When trying to choose a modelling agency you'll quickly notice that there are dozens upon dozens of options. Some will focus on a specific niche of modelling, eg lingerie, while others will have a wide variety of jobs, or assignments, available to anyone who applies. Depending on what type of model you are, or you want to be, making a decision can become easier in this respect as you narrow down your list of potential agencies to approach quite quickly.

What do you need?

A strong modelling portfolio is a prerequisite for any big agency, but not all are so fussy. Modelling is made out to be extremely hard, but in reality the modelling itself is the easy bit. Getting infront of the camera is that harder bit, and getting paid well is even harder. Any decent modelling portfolio should have a headshot, a profile headshot, a full body and a profile. These are the most basic shots that let people see your shape and features. Along with this include your vital statistics. Don't lie about your size, if you get hired and have gotten skinny or gained some weight you may get sent home without pay.
